PC Tools AntiVirus Free can detect and eradicate viruses and other nasty malware that attempt to infect a computer system through a number of means, such as through the Internet of through removal storage.
IntelliGuard real-time protection keeps on the look out as you carry out your typical daily tasks, and the software also has several options for on-demand scanning if you are thorough.
Virus definition updates are pushed out on a regular basis and downloaded using Smart Update.
Threats detected during a scan can be completely removed from the system afterwards or quarantined (can be restored later in case of false positive etc.) The software logs each scan that it carries out, providing a detailed record of your operating system's health.
NOTE: PC Tools AntiVirus Free is indeed free, but users should keep an eye on the installation steps as some utilities may be offered for installation (toolbars, browsers etc.) that are not essential to PC Tools AntiVirus running.
