Windows AutoUpdate Disable is a tool that can quickly enable or disable Windows Automatic Update, and also lets you tweak some settings. The tool is available for free from SecurityXploded.com.
This tool can be useful if you find that the Windows Update settings have been frozen on your PC due to corporate policy or by an Administrator.
Note that Windows Update delivers security updates that protect against known vulnerabilities in the operation system, so if you do decide to disable automatic updating, make sure you manually keep up to date or you might end up regretting it.
