Ransomware essentially seeks to extort money from victims using a variety of methods that vary in their insidious nature. Some can be removed using removal tools such as this tool, and could save you a lot of time and money.

Best practice is to install the tool in Safe Mode in Windows, then reboot into normal mode. Then hold down the keys CTRL + T + L to trigger the tool. The screen lock should terminate and the AntiRansomware screen should appear if everything goes well. Click Scan.

Success will vary based on what ransonware you are fighting.
