Emsisoft Decrypter for MRCR can attempt to recover files encrypted by the MRCR or Merry X-Mas ransomware / malware.

Encrypted files will have either ".PEGS1", ".MRCR1", ".RARE1", ".MERRY", or ".RMCM1" as an extension.

To start the decryption process you will need a file pair consisting of an encrypted file and the non-encrypted version of the same file.

Emsisoft has offered this tool to the public for free, and also a handy technical guide to explain using it.
