Total Taskbar Controller and the accompanying programs, Trigger Taskbar and Tray Popup, provide new options for making the Windows Taskbar autohide and reappear when it's most convenient for you.

TaskbarController.exe lets you set a delay so a hidden Taskbar doesn't appear every time your mouse pointer gets too close to the edge of the desktop. Both the delay and how close your mouse needs to get to the taskbar to trigger it can be fine tuned using a simple GUI.

Alternatively you can move the trigger points for showing the Taskbar to one or more corners of the desktop, turn off all desktop hotspots, set a hotkey to trigger it with your keyboard, and even use a second program that functions similar to a Windows shortcut.

Additionally it can completely remove the Start Orb image from the end of the Taskbar to get it out of your way if you are using an alternative application launcher. This feature is designed specifically to work with Start Killer to effectively remove the Start Menu completely.

Trigger Taskbar is a helper application included in the zip file which you can put on your desktop or directly on a dock or application launcher. Running it will toggle the Taskbar's Autohide feature, making it appear if it was hidden or disappear if it was visible.

A third program, Tray Popup, opens the hidden overflow area of the Taskbar's Notification Area (aka Systray) so you can access programs which might be minimized there while the Taskbar remains hidden. Like Trigger Taskbar it can be placed directly on your desktop, an application dock, or just about anywhere else. The Systray icons will appear right next to where TrayPopup.exe was executed from.

Finally there is a replacement for the Start Orb itself which can be pinned to the Taskbar. This is important if you want to keep the Start Button while using Total Taskbar Controller because otherwise the button can still appear even though the Taskbar is hidden.
